We are raising funds to reveal the unwritten history of World Student Christian Federation - Europe from its foundation in 1969 (following regionalisation) up to and in time for our 50th anniversary in 2019. We want to produce a comprehensive record of our fifty-year history, remember the people who made this organisation what it is and properly acknowledge the contribution we made to Christian life in Europe. To do this however, we need your help.

We are keen to start delving into the documentation to help us better understand our past, recall the people who shaped it and discover exactly how WSCF-Europe contributed to making the world a more just and peaceful place.

We are raising funds to:

  • Cover the costs of a trip to Yale University Archives [€1,500] for our volunteer researcher - David Cleary. Sending David to Yale is essential because all the WSCF-E records (70 boxes in all) are currently held solely in paper form. To digitize all 70 boxes of materials has been estimated to cost €35,000 - €45,000. As this is clearly not possible, David will instead go through all the materials and determine which documents absolutely need to be digitized. He will then scan the selected, essential documents that we need to proceed with this project.
  • Have the selected, relevant documentation professionally digitized to allow for it to be published online for public awareness and further cultural research. [€2,000]
  • Publish the complete history of WSCF-E by 2019. [€3,000]
